Transfer Credit
Completing your bachelor’s degree at North Park University requires that you earn a minimum of 120 total semester hours. At least the last 30 semester hours of your degree must be completed at North Park.
How do I know what credits will transfer?
Your undergraduate recruiter will talk with you about the classes you’ve taken, and are currently taking, to help you get an idea of what will transfer and meet requirements for North Park’s Core Curriculum and your intended major.
North Park also maintains transfer credit agreements with many Chicagoland community colleges. Talk with your recruiter or the transfer advisor at your college to see if there is an agreement that will apply to your coursework.
As you apply, you’ll submit official transcripts from all your schools and will then receive an official Transfer Credit Evaluation. This document will list the credits we will accept, what requirements they meet, and help you understand what courses you’ll still need to take.
Transferring from Two-Year Schools
Only 60 semester hours may be transferred to North Park from any two-year school (or schools, if you attended more than one). Your transfer credits to North Park will be evaluated chronologically; we’ll start with the school you started at first and then move forward until we reach your current college or university.
Transferring from Four-Year Schools
Up to 90 semester hours may be transferred from a four-year college or university (or multiple schools). Your transfer credits to North Park will be evaluated chronologically; we’ll start with the school you started at first and then move forward until we reach your current college or university.
Transferring Credit from Multiple Schools
North Park accepts up to 90 total semester hours of transfer credit for any student. If you attended both two- and four-year colleges, only 60 of those credits may be from a two-year school. Credits transferred to North Park will be evaluated chronologically; we’ll start with the school you started at first and then move forward until we reach your current college or university.
